The National Council for Geographic Education (NCGE)

NCGE is a non-profit organization,  enhancing the status and quality of geography teaching and learning, since 1915. NCGE supports geography teaching at all levels—from kindergarten through university.

Developed by GENIP (a consortium of the National Council for Geographic Education, the National Geographic Society, the Association of American Geographers, and the American Geographical Society. and released in 2012, the second edition of the National Geography Standards offers a consensus of the geography education community around what students should know and be able to do by the time they graduate from the 12th grade.
